We

teach following an interactive, rather than a static, model.

We avoid groupthink and focus on the individual. Unfortunately, nearly 100% of children’s ministries today employ the catechetical style of teaching, where the teacher lectures and the students remain quiet and listen. Instead, Venture Clubs’ curriculum and methodology use the Rabbinical or Socratic style of teaching, where students have an opportunity to interact with each other and the teacher in small groups and express what they are learning in their own words. That is, teaching children and youth HOW to think, not just WHAT to think. This better prepares them to defend—and share—their faith in an antagonistic society. Think of it as entry-level apologetics.

Crossroads Church, Palm Harbor, has achieved remarkable results through its partnership with The Mailbox Club, which oversees three Venture Clubs in our city. We minister to almost 100 students a week during the school year by sponsoring two school-based clubs and one club reaching lower-income families in our community. We have seen nearly 75 kids come to know Christ over the last two years. We have also been able to involve 20 of these young people in our Sunday morning ministry as a direct result of partnering with Venture Clubs. And we have baptized 15 children who accepted the Lord during one of our club times. Venture Club is a marvelous tool to teach the fundamentals of the faith to kids. Modern culture is saturated with man-centered beliefs and philosophies, so it is more important than ever that kids learn what the Bible says about God, man, sin, and salvation. Gold

Reminds us of Heaven. This is where we all want to go when we die.

Scarlet

Stands for the fact that all people are sinners and God cannot allow sin into His Heaven. Rom 3:23

Red and the "T" (cross)

Reminds us God saw the problem and provides a way for all people a way to have their sin forgiven, through faith in the shed blood of Jesus Christ on the Cross. I John 1:7

Purple

Stands for our need to put our faith and trust in Jesus Christ – receiving Him as Savior and Lord. John 1:12

Reminds us that we are made righteous by:

A. agreeing with God that we are sinners.

B. believing (trusting) in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and, through His death and bodily resurrection, we can obtain God’s gift of forgiveness for our sins.

C. confessing Jesus Christ as the Savior and Lord (repentance and faith). Rom 10:9&10 & 2 Corinth 5:21

Green

Means that as believers in Jesus Christ, we are to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord. 2 Peter 3:18

Gold

Reminds us that Heaven is our home through faith in Jesus Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. 1 John 1:12
